ColorMaker has a deep appreciation for the fundamental connection between people and cosmetic color. We enhance the sensory appeal and performance of numerous personal care products from soaps and moisturizers to lotions, face powders, shampoos, and hand creams. Note that personal care products are water-soluble. Natural colors are perfect in water soluble products (products based on water). Some cosmetic products however require insoluble pigments that will not run when they get wet (products such as eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara, blush, lipstick, and nail polish). Such "make up" products are difficult, if not impossible, to color with natural colors because natural colors are water soluble dyes. Even in powderd form, water soluble dyes are not as fine as insoluble pigments (think microscopic size of the powdered particles). ColorMaker does offer a very limited number of insoluble pigments based upon natural color sources: beet juice red, spirulina blue, and turmeric yellow. We also work with iron oxide reds, browns, and blacks. As a result, we can deliver vibrant and sexy and colorful personal care products … and a handful of cosmetic products ... naturally. Call us.
